【摘要】:ThispartofISO/IEC19784definestheApplicationProgrammingInterface(API)andServiceProviderInterface(SPI)forstandardinterfaceswithinabiometricsystemthatsupporttheprovisionofthatbiometricsystemusingcomponentsfrommultiplevendors.ItprovidesinterworkingbetweensuchcomponentsthroughadherencetothispartofISO/IEC19784andtootherInternationalStandards.TheBioAPIspecificationisapplicabletoabroadrangeofbiometrictechnologytypes.Itisalsoapplicabletoawidevarietyofbiometricallyenabledapplications,frompersonaldevices,throughnetworksecurityapplications,tolargecomplexidentificationsystems.ThispartofISO/IEC19784supportsanarchitectureinwhichaBioAPIFrameworksupportsmultiplesimultaneousbiometricapplications(providedbydifferentvendors),usingmultipledynamicallyinstalledandloaded(orunloaded)biometricserviceprovider(BSP)componentsandBioAPIUnits(providedbyotherdifferentvendors),possiblyusingoneofanalternativesetofBioAPIFunctionProvider(BFP)components(providedbyothervendors)orbydirectmanagementofBioAPIUnits.NOTE:WhereBioAPIUnitsareprovidedbyadifferentvendorfomaBSP,astandardisedBioAPIFunctionProviderInterface(FPI)maybeneeded.ThisisoutsidethescopeofthispartofISO/IEC19784,butisspecifiedbylaterpartsforthedifferentcategoriesofFPI.ThispartofISO/IEC19784isnotrequired(andshouldnormallynotbereferenced)whenacompletebiometricsystemisbeingprocuredfromasinglevendor,particularlyiftheadditionorinterchangeofbiometrichardware,services,orapplicationsisnotafeatureofthatbiometricsystem.(Suchsystemsaresometimesreferredtoas"embeddedsystems".)StandardisationofsuchsystemsisnotinthescopeofthispartofISO/IEC19784.ItisnotinthescopeofthispartofISO/IEC19784todefinesecurityrequirementsforbiometricapplicationsandbiometricserviceproviders.NOTE:ISO19092providesguidelinesonsecurityaspectsofbiometricsystems.[3]Theperformanceofbiometricsystems(particularlyinrelationtosearchesofalargepopulationtoprovidethebiometricidentificationcapability)isnotinthescopeofthispartofISO/IEC19784.Trade-offsbetweeninteroperabilityandperformancearenotinthescopeofthispartofISO/IEC19784.ThispartofISO/IEC19784specifiesaversionoftheBioAPIspecificationthatisdefinedtohaveaversionnumberdescribedasMajor2,Minor0,orversion2.0.NOTE:EarlierversionsoftheBioAPIspecificationwerenotInternationalStandards.
