【摘要】:Anadequatelydesignedandinstalledsurfaceprotectionsystemwillmitigatetheconsequencesofnaturallyormancauseddamageswhichcouldotherwiseoccurandresultineitherchangestothedata,orcompletelossofthemonitoringwell.Theextentofapplicationofthispracticemaydependupontheimportanceofthemonitoringdata,costofmonitoringwellreplacement,expectedordesignlifeofthemonitoringwell,thepresenceorabsenceofpotentialrisks,andsettingorlocationofthewell.Monitoringwellsurfaceprotectionshouldbeapartofthewelldesignprocess,andinstallationoftheprotectivesystemshouldbecompletedatthetimeofmonitoringwellinstallationanddevelopment.Informationdeterminedatthetimeofinstallationoftheprotectivesystemwillformabaselineforfuturemonitoringwellinspectionandmaintenance.Additionally,elementsoftheprotectionsystemwillsatisfysomeregulatoryrequirementssuchasforprotectionofnearsurfacegroundwaterandwellidentification.1.1Thispracticeidentifiesdesignandconstructionconsiderationstobeappliedtomonitoringwellsforprotectionfromnaturalandmancauseddamageorimpacts.1.2Theinstallationanddevelopmentofawellisacostlyanddetailedactivitywiththegoalofprovidingrepresentativesamplesanddatathroughoutthedesignlifeofthewell.Damagestothewellatthesurfacefrequentlyresultinlossofthewellorchangesinthedata.Thisstandardprovidesforaccesscontrolsothattamperingwiththeinstallationshouldbeevident.Thedesignandinstallationofappropriatesurfaceprotectionwillmitigatethelikelihoodofdamageorloss.1.3Thispracticemaybeappliedtoothersurfaceorsubsurfacemonitoringdevicelocations,suchaspiezometers,permeameters,temperatureormoisturemonitors,orseismicdevicestoprovideprotection.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thispracticeoffersasetofinstructionsforperformingoneormorespecificoperations.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthispracticemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Thewordx201C;Standardx201D;inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.
