【摘要】:Themethodpresentedhereisafieldmethodthatmaybeusedtodeterminemassandvolumeflowratesinductswhereflowconditionsmaybeirregularandnonuniform.Thegasflowingintheductisconsideredtobeanidealgas.Themethodmaybeespeciallyusefulinthoselocationswhereconventionalpitottubeorthermalanemometervelocitymeasurementsaredifficultorinappropriatedueeithertoverylowaverageflowvelocityorthelackofasuitablerunofductupstreamanddownstreamofthemeasurementlocation.Thistestmethodcanproducethevolumetricflowrateatstandardconditionswithouttheneedtodeterminegasstreamcomposition,temperature,andwatervaporcontent.ThistestmethodisusefulfordeterminingmassorvolumetricflowratesinHVACducts,fumehoods,ventstacks,andminetunnels,aswellasinperformingmodelstudiesofpollutioncontroldevices.Thistestmethodisbasedonfirstprinciples(conservationofmass)anddoesnotrequireengineeringassumptions.Thistestmethoddoesnotrequirethemeasurementoftheareaoftheductorstack.Thetestmethoddoesnotrequireflowstraightening.Thetestmethodisindependentofflowconditions,suchasangle,swirl,turbulence,reversals,andhence,doesnotrequireflowstraightening.Thedryvolumetricairflowcanbedeterminedbydryingtheairsampleswithoutmeasuringthewatervaporconcentration.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthemeasurementofthevolumetricandmassflowrateofagasstreamwithinaduct,stack,pipe,minetunnel,orflueusingatracergasdilutiontechnique.Foreditorialconvenienceallreferencesinthetextwillbetoaduct,butitshouldbeunderstoodthatthiscouldreferequallywelltoastack,pipe,minetunnel,orflue.Thistestmethodislimitedtothoseapplicationswherethegasstreamandthetracergascanbetreatedasidealgasesattheconditionsofthemeasurement.Inthistestmethod,thegasstreamwillbereferredasair,thoughitcouldbeanyothergasthatexhibitsidealgaslawbehavior.1.2Thistestmethodisnotrestrictedtoanyparticulartracergasalthoughexperimentalexperiencehasshownthatcertaingasesareusedmorereadilythanothersassuitabletracergases.Itispreferablethatthetracergasnotbeanaturalcomponentofthegasstream.1.3Useofthistestmethodrequiresaknowledgeoftheprinciplesofgasanalysisandinstrumentation.Correctuseoftheformulaspresentedhererequiresconsistentuseofunits.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSection7.
