【摘要】:ThisNationalStandardofCanadaisequivalenttoInternationalStandardISO/IECTR20943-1:2003.1Scope1.1BackgroundAnISO/IEC11179-basedmetadataregistry(MDR)(hereafterreferredtoasa"registry")isatoolforthemanagementofshareabledata;acomprehensive,authoritativesourceofreferenceinformationaboutdata.Itsupportsthestandardizationandharmonizationprocessesbyrecordinganddisseminatingdatastandards,whichfacilitatesdatasharingamongorganizationsandusers.Itprovideslinkstodocumentsthatrefertodataelementsandtoinformationsystemswheredataelementsareused.Whenusedinconjunctionwithaninformationdatabase,theregistryenablesuserstobetterunderstandtheinformationobtained.Aregistrydoesnotcontaindataitself.Itcontainsthemetadatathatisnecessarytoclearlydescribe,inventory,analyse,andclassifydata.Itprovidesanunderstandingofthemeaning,representation,andidentificationofunitsofdata.Thestandardidentifiestheinformationelementsthatneedtobeavailablefordeterminingthemeaningofadataelement(DE)tobesharedbetweensystems.1.2PurposeThepurposeofISO/IECTR20943-1:2003istodescribeasetofproceduresfortheconsistentregistrationofdataelementsandtheirattributesinaregistry.ISO/IECTR20943-1:2003isnotadataentrymanual,butauser.sguideforconceptualizingadataelementanditsassociatedmetadataitemsforthepurposeofconsistentlyestablishinggoodqualitydataelements.Anorganizationmayadaptand/oraddtotheseproceduresasnecessary.1.3ScopeThescopeofISO/IECTR20943-1:2003islimitedtotheassociateditemsofadataelement:thedataelementidentifier,namesanddefinitionsinparticularcontexts,andexamples;dataelementconcept;conceptualdomainwithitsvaluemeanings;andvaluedomainwithitspermissiblevalues.
